Description

Details

For years we have been searching for a proper size (without looking like a new out-of-scale reproduction from Asia) and “comfortable” Louis XVI side chair. Now, finally we can stop, because we came upon a gorgeous set from the 1800s in the style of Jacob from Chateau de I’ Oise in France. The seat was just a little wider and a smidgen deeper and the back relaxed a few more degrees which made for the absolute perfect Louis XVI side chair. They just sat so right that we decided to reproduce them; not by some automated machine overseas, but the old fashion way, by hand. Look at the radius carved corners of the seats and if you look carefully, you will see that they are slightly different and all the edges have clear crisp carving marks, which is not what you would get by a machine made chair. All the connections are mortise and tenon. We will offer the chairs from bare wood frames, to finished product, for I know that many of you have your favorite upholster and finisher. Lastly, should you have difficulty in finding the perfect color leather, no problem, just send in a color sample and we do not care if it is a tube of lipstick, we will match it, just like Porsche has done for their clients for decades. **Seat height is 19.25"
