Vintage French leather club chairs, produced by the French firm of HUGUES CHEVALIER of Paris, who also made the furniture for Cartier’s Head Office in Paris. Mr. Hugues Chevalier designs were inspired from the Art Deco period and this particular pair of French leather club chairs are a near copy from the original 1930’s classic club chair. Our Old Plank upholstery department disassembled both leather club chairs and care went about restoring the insides of both club chairs. The leather was treated with a generous amount of Leatherique, which is a high-end leather rejuvenator. We debated, whether or not to restore the color of the club chairs (still possible), but in the end we all really liked the natural patina of 40-plus years of wear. Old Plank has been importing French Art Deco club chairs for over 30-years and this is only the second pair of green leather club chairs we’re seen. The leather is 100% all original and has not been doctored in any way.
